West Nile Scare

In the beautiful state of  Arkansas we have tons of mosquitoes, Many of them can be found in the area where i live. Newport, Home of tons of farm lands filled with rice fields. When you irrigate rice you normally pump up levees. Mosquitoes love to live around wet area which attracts these critters. Every year about 1,000 cases come up across America, That number could be rinsing because of the amount of rainfall hurricane Isaac is expected to bring in.

In Arkansas there have already been 2 deaths that have been confirmed that the victims have been bitten by a mosquito that contained the west nile virus. Many people have been asking the same question? Where have the deaths been locatede at? Well Justin Lewis said in his broadcast that"Many of the deaths are located in the Louisiana area and Texas area where they have quite a bit of standing water. In my prospective i do not think this is a big deal. At our house we have a pound and a pool, I am concerned that this might attract more mosquitos and i hope this does affect closing our pool early or even darning our pound in necessary.

What can we do if we suddenly become ill? Justin recommended to call your family doctor just to get tested because it is better to be safe the sorry. You may also call the public health service to come out in your area to spray for the virus. Justin never said if this was to complete kill out all of the virus in mosquitos but he recommended it just to be safe. 

Well you may ask how you can protect yourself and family before the virus gets to you. They recommend making sure you ditches are dug where the water is allowed to away from your home. You may also purchase some mosquito spray  you can spray to kill the critters before they get to you!
